In August of 1999 an agreement was signed between PMCentersUSA and the University of Pittsburgh's Pitt Business Center for Executive Education forging a relationship that enables us jointly to provide professional development courses in project management and business analysis on a much larger scale. All courses are presented in conjunction with the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and are designed to provide high quality professional development instruction to meet the needs of the business community. Through our affiliation with the Pitt Business Center for Executive Education, we offer 3 tracks in project management professional development and 2 tracks in Business Analysis.
Project Management
- The Master's Certificate Track consists of 6 focused courses in project management. When our program is completed, students receive a Master's Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh, which designates that they have been successful in their study of project management at this level.
- The PMP Track offers these same 6 courses, but adds a 7th course in our program, PMP Examination Preparation, presented for those seeking to take PMI's PMP® certification exam. This course reviews all materials presented in the program through a series of sample exams and instructor explanations of correct answers.
- The most comprehensive track, the Advanced Track includes the 6 core classes, the PMP Examination Preparation as well as 3 advanced classes. The IT Project Management, Managing Multiple Projects, and Turning Around Problem Projects Courses. The advanced classes assume that participants are knowledgeable in project management principles and techniques addressed in the Master's Certificate in Project Management Program.
New Offering:
Our one-day course, Effective Scheduling Techniques, covers the critical skills necessary to create a correct project schedule that contains tasks and resources. Topics include a brief review of scheduling fundamentals, types of schedules, estimating work and duration, checking a schedule for mistakes, and keeping your project on track. This course includes hands-on exercises and is designed for people who are responsible for creating and modifying project schedules and use scheduling software.
