As Business Analysts, we are accustomed to the idea of using diagrams and models to support our analysis and communication. We are familiar with Data Models, Process Flows, and Dataflow Diagrams among others. However, we may not be aware of a discrete set of diagrams that were created as a set using the same notation techniques and intended to be used together. This set of diagrams, the Unified Modeling Language, is concise, accurate, precise, and not as well known in the BA community as it should be. Join us as we look at all 13 UML diagrams focusing on the ones that provide the most value to the BA.
